Union of delicate orchids, evanescent grace of the butterfly, and of the lightning beauty of the orchid mantis, this artwork is the transcript of the emotion at the grandiose spectacle of a fleeting nature. The Waiting is that lapse of time during which we are free to enjoy this beauty. During which the future of every being, flower... is still uncertain. It materializes through communion of porcelain, a traditional material and of a contemporary material, the Wepam. Symbolically, if the orchid mantis eventually removes the butterfly, is it the same with the replacement of traditional materials by newer ones ? This sculpture proposes, as for it, to combine them to leveraging the best of what they have to offer us. The Waiting is a complex work, which is revealed only through different readings, different points of view, over time.
